Editorial Policy

The principles that govern every guide, methodology page, and tool description on CheckItNowTools.

Transparency

  • Every diagnostic documents how its result is computed.
  • Upstream data sources are credited.
  • Sponsored placements and affiliate links are visually labelled and disclosed.
  • Corrections are made in public.

Technical accuracy

  • Claims are verified against authoritative standards (IETF RFCs, OWASP, ICANN, IANA, W3C).
  • Examples are tested against real systems before publication.
  • Outdated guidance is revised or removed, not silently demoted.

Educational usefulness

  • Content explains the why and the how — not just the what.
  • Limitations are surfaced alongside capabilities.
  • Responsible interpretation is encouraged for every result type.

Accessibility

  • Plain-language writing wherever possible.
  • Semantic HTML, keyboard navigability, and adequate contrast across the platform.
  • See the dedicated Accessibility Statement for ongoing commitments.

Continuous improvement

  • Tool methodologies are reviewed periodically and on user request.
  • Reader corrections are treated as priority issues.
  • Roadmap and version history are published openly.
