Advertising & affiliate disclosure

Where money enters the picture, and how we keep recommendations honest.

CheckItNowTools is free to use. The site is sustained by tasteful advertising and affiliate relationships with the tools we already recommend in our editorial content. This page explains exactly how that works.

What counts as advertising on this site

  • Sponsored recommendation rails. Where a tool's workflow naturally leads into a category — a VPN after an IP lookup, monitoring after an SSL check — we may render a clearly-labelled "Sponsored" panel with curated picks.
  • Affiliate links. Some outbound links to partner services use referral parameters. If you sign up via one of those links we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.
  • Display advertising. Where ad units appear, they are placed only after the user has received the core value of the page — never above the result of a check.

How we choose partners

We only feature tools we would recommend regardless of commercial relationship. A partner being featured does not entitle them to edit our copy, change our verdicts, or remove a competitor. If a recommended product changes for the worse, we remove the recommendation — even if it costs us revenue.

Editorial independence

  • Diagnostics are deterministic — no advertiser influences the result of a check.
  • Reputation, blacklist, and security verdicts are computed from third-party feeds documented on the Data sources page.
  • Sponsored cards are always visually distinct and labelled "Sponsored".
  • Outbound affiliate links carry rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" per Google's webmaster guidance.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use third-party advertising cookies on our pages. Analytics for our own product are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to a tracking server. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Questions or corrections

If you spot a sponsored placement we have not flagged correctly, or believe a recommendation is no longer warranted, please reach out via the About page. We treat editorial corrections as priority issues.
